Foxtrot Project

Is there a software that can identify the GENRE of Tunes: such as Bolero, Cumbia, Foxtrot, jive or Merengue?

  1. winamp used to be able to do that....
  2. I highly doubt it. I actually categorized my itunes music the other day to avoid doing homework. Much like I'm doing now. I relied on googling or looking at last.fm to see how most people categorized the music, but at the end of the day I did not always agree with the genres people placed certain music in. It's sort of a subjective thing.
  3. This : http://www.freedb.org/freedb_search.php : is normally fairly accurate.
  4. For six weeks now, the San Francisco startup has been selling an iTunes plug-in that automatically fills in or corrects the metadata - track names, artists, albums, music genres, release years - that go along with music files. TuneUp's software opens up along with iTunes, and users can drag songs from their playlists over to TuneUp's "Clean" tab to fix the metadata associated with a track.
