What type of shoes should I wear for latin ballroom dancing?

I am going for my first introductory latin ballroom dance lesson. Its private and only 30 min. I know you usually wear strappy thick healed shoes but I don't have any right now. So for this first lesson what shoes should I wear?

1. You want something that is comfortable and will have a non slip heel. Composite soles will make your turns harder, but not impossible for a first lesson. If you are considering taking up dancing as a hobby or career then you should consider gettting Latin Dance Shoes. Your instructor should be able to help you with selection and how to make sure the shoes fit.
